Passing of Brother Knight Joe Semler

August 7, 2026

Please join our council in praying for the repose of the soul of Brother Knight Joe Semler. He passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, July 27th. He was 94.

Current Council Trustee and Past Grand Knight Bill Eldridge shared this tribute of Joe:
"Our council recently lost a giant of a man. Those of us who knew and worked alongside Joe Semler owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude. Joe offered us a glimpse into the heart of a true servant.

But the most Christlike thing Joe did was to serve with a smile that exuded a sincere positivity that touched everyone around him. He taught us how to be friends. He taught us how to be brothers.

Indeed, we owe Our Lord a sincere Thank You for placing this giant in our midst."

Joe will be laid to rest this Saturday morning, Aug. 8th, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen (1515 N. Greenville Ave., Allen, TX 75002). Visitation will be from 9:15 till 10:00. Rosary from 10:00 till 10:30. The Funeral Mass will be from 10:30 till 11:45.
