The short version

This is a volunteer-run website for a local Knights of Columbus council. We collect as little as we can. We do not sell, rent, share, or trade anyone's information, and we never will. There are no advertising trackers on this site.

What we store

  • Member records. Name and email address for members of Council 12021, entered by a council officer from our own membership records. There is no public sign-up — you cannot add yourself to this list.
  • Event and volunteer sign-ups. If you sign up for an event or a volunteer slot, we keep what you entered on that form so the organizer knows who is coming.
  • Messages you send us. If you use a contact form on this site, the message goes to a council officer's mailbox.

How long we keep things

  • Member records. Kept while you're a member of Council 12021. Removed when a council officer takes you off the roster.
  • Event and volunteer sign-ups. Kept for one year after the event date (or one year after you sign up, for sign-ups that aren't tied to a specific date), then deleted automatically.
  • Member Exchange messages. Kept for one year after you send them, then deleted automatically.
  • Sign-in links and failed sign-in attempts. Deleted within a week; failed attempts within a day. These exist only to keep the sign-in system working and secure.
  • Documents. Newsletters and other files stay up as long as they're useful reference material, and come down when an officer replaces or retires them — no fixed schedule.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time — see "Questions, corrections, or removal" below.

Cookies

One cookie, and only if you sign in. It keeps you signed in as you move between pages. It is not used to track you, here or anywhere else. We do not use Google Analytics or any comparable service, so there are no analytics or advertising cookies to opt out of.

Email we send

Members may receive council announcements — meetings, events, service opportunities, and council news. These go only to people on our membership roster. We do not buy, rent, or otherwise acquire email lists, and we do not send on behalf of anyone else.

Every announcement includes an unsubscribe link. Using it takes effect immediately and permanently, and it does not affect your membership in the council in any way — you will simply stop receiving email from the website. You can also just reply and ask, or write to us at the address below. If you change your mind later, ask an officer to put you back on.

Sign-in emails are separate. Those are sent only when you request a sign-in link, and unsubscribing from announcements does not stop them.

Third parties

We use outside services to deliver email and to serve this website securely. They handle messages on our behalf and are not permitted to use member information for their own purposes. This site also loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google can see the network request your browser makes for those files.

Questions, corrections, or removal

Email [email protected] and ask. We will correct or delete your information on request. A real person reads that mailbox; please allow a few days, as this site is run by volunteers.
